Generally the welcome message to the list explains all those procedures, and if you don't know how mailing lists work, it is recommended that you keep this message. Every message posted from the list includes the following headers, which are rather self-explainatory: List-Help: <mailto:rpm-list-request@redhat.com?subject=help> List-Post: <mailto:rpm-list@redhat.com> List-Subscribe: <https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/rpm-list>, <mailto:rpm-list-request@redhat.com?subject=subscribe> List-Id: RPM Package Manager <rpm-list.redhat.com> List-Unsubscribe: <https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/rpm-list>, <mailto:rpm-list-request@redhat.com?subject=unsubscribe> List-Archive: <https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/private/rpm-list/> Note that in order to subscribe by email you need to know the password with which you subscribed top the list. If you don't have it, you can use the web interface to have the password sent to your email address. If you have any problems, please contact the list manager (see the help message for details). Posting a message to the list is only going to annoy other subscribers. Only you and the list manager can unsubscribe you, so there is no point in posting a message to the list and annoying all the other subscribers.
